Semiconductor Lamps

A semiconductor is a substance, usually a solid chemical element or compound, that can conduct electricity under some conditions, but not others, making it a good medium for the control of electrical current. You will find semiconductors at the heart of microprocessor chips as well as transistors. Anything that's computerized or uses radio waves depends on semiconductors.

RST supplies lamps for the following semiconductor Manufacturing Processes:
Surface Activation and Cleaning: The ability to direct plasma onto the substrate enables the substance to be cleaned of volatile materials, whilst also activating the surface.

Photolithography: This is the process of transferring geometric shapes on a mask to the surface of a silicon wafer.

RTP - Rapid Thermal Processing: This is the process which heats silicon wafers to high temperatures on a timescale of several seconds or less.

RTA - Rapid Thermal Anneal: This is a subset of RTP - this process consists of heating a single wafer at a time in order to affect its electrical properties.

PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition: This is a coating method which involves purely physical processes such as high temperature evaporation or plasma sputter bombardment at the surface to be coated.

CVD - Chemical Vapor Deposition: During this process the wafer is exposed to one or more volatile precursors, which react and/or decompose on the substrate surface to produce the desired deposit.

EPI - Epitaxy: This is the process of depositing a thin layer of single crystal material over a single crystal substrate.

Metrology - The application of measurement science to manufacturing and other processes ensuring suitability and quality control.
